David Bevington

English Language and Literature / Comparative Literature

David Bevington is the Phyllis Fay Horton Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus in the Departments of English Language and Literature and Comparative Literature. His work centers on Shakespeare and other authors of Renaissance and medieval drama, and he serves as senior editor on the Revels Plays, critical editions of the work done by Shakespeare’s contemporaries. He is the author of many books including Murder Most Foul: Hamlet Through The Ages (Oxford University Press, 2011). He also co-edited an online edition of Hamlet for Internet Shakespeare Editions.
