Gary Tubb

South Asian Languages and Civilizations

Gary Tubb is Professor in the Department of South Asian Languages and Civilizations and Faculty Director of the University of Chicago Center in Delhi. His specialties include Sanskrit language and literature, Indian philosophy, and the history of Sanskrit linguistic and literary theory. His research focuses on Sanskrit poetry and poetics and grammatical and commentarial traditions. He also researches the connections between philosophy, religion, and literature in Sanskrit culture, particularly as concerns the epic Mahabharata.
