Niall Atkinson

Niall Atkinson is Assistant Professor in the Department of Art History. As an architectural and urban historian focusing on the late medieval and Early Renaissance periods in Italy, Atkinson considers the social dimensions of architecture and the reception of buildings and spaces by urban residents. This type of investigation includes consideration of urban soundscapes and the sounds of the early modern city, phenomenology and architecture, and navigating and negotiating urban space.
